5 industrial accidents in India within 36 hrs.

It's been more than 36 years since 1984 when India faced major industrial accident in which more than 3500 people died and 10000 affected with methyl isocyanate (MIC). That was the time, when industries was not having many safety devices compared to present days. The automation and programmable logic control has made running industry efficient and safe. Nowadays the use of artificial intelligence is helping enginners in decision making while troubleshooting and normal operations.

Yesterday Indian industries faced four accidents;
1. Polymer industry; Styrene gas leak in Vizag.
2. Chattisgarh paper meal gas inhalation.
3. Tamilnadu Boiler explosion.
4. Fire into Nashik based industry.
5. 19 migrating labour died on track as goods train passed over them.

In most cases they were performing start up activities post long lockdown.

When the plant runs normal or work goes without accident no one cares. Most of the times people consider safety as “too much safety”. But even a small mishandling or unsafe action may leads to fatal or accident.

Whatever the work is and how important it is, even a small safety practice / device / measure has to be followed or implemented. This can save life, machines and lot of money.

Our 70% power is supplied by Thermal Power plants, of which the first plant commissioned in 1920; still we are experiencing Explosion in Boilers. Boilers are very critical to operate when it comes to pressure control and furnace control. If the three element control is bypassed for any reason the whole safety of boiler gets bypassed. One can control everything manually, but at a time one man can control only one thing / few parameters / a section of plants.

Major accidents in boiler are due to
1. Failure of Safety devices.
2. Failure of material of construction.
3. Error in operations.

Let's consider the case of Paper mill. As such paper mills are very safe to operate; only sections which are having gases are either chlor-alkali units or pulp digestion and bleaching sections. Anyhow only suspicious gas seems to be chlorine in this case.

Though the severity is less and the cleaning was only undergoing, it clearly indicates the failure to fulfill shut down checklist or post shut down checks. Such short cuts always plays important roles in delayed start up activities.

As per reports in media; The gas leaking from Polymer Industry in Vizag is styrene. Which started to leak at 3 am early in the morning. This plant was also shut for lock down. Styrene has melting point of -30 degC and Boiling point of 145 degC. To achieve this temp either one need to provide external heat source or an exothermic reaction need to takes place where the liquid styrene was stored. Styrene is Stable under room temperature, but may polymerize upon exposure to light and heat without no initiator.

It is shipped as monomer with a dissolved inhibitor. Substances which are to be avoided include strong acids, aluminium chloride, strong oxidizing agents, metallic salts, polymerization catalysts and accelerators.  A considerable distance to ignition source is needed. The possibility of reduction in concentration of oxygen in air as a result of large volume of styrene vapour in atmosphere might be reason behind deaths or breathing difficulties.
How the styrene gas leak has happened needed to be studied.

With repeated awareness about crossing the railway tracks. Death are still taking place due to railway accident on tracks. They were tired and slept on track thinking that railways are not working. They were approaching the station to board train for their hometown. The loco pilot tried breaking and blown long horn but couldn't manage to control.

State run Shramik (Labour) express has started with limited capacity, the mode of transfer to reach stations is not enough and clearly stated. No one's failure it's just a fate / coincidence.

Safety is important, to keep ourselves safe from accidents. It should never be bypassed and any process or system alarm to be acknowledged and necessary action to be taken without fail so as to keep plants running safely.

Personal and respiratory safety /hygiene is important to keep ourselves safe from Covid-19. Stay at home and Stay Safe.

Bara Imambara (बड़ा ईमामबाड़ा)। मुस्कुराइए आप लखनउ में है।

"This large structure was built by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula in 1786-91 and is one of the architectural wonders of that era." " There are actually 4 things main is Bara Imambara, Bhul Bhulaiya, Asifi Masjid and Shahi Baoli.

Its central hall is said to be the largest vaulted chamber in the world. The great assembly hall is a large hall unsupported by any pillars. Except for the galleries in the interior, there is no woodwork in the entire structure. People can also view the grave of Nawab Asaf-Ud-Dowlah and his crown, kept in the middle of the hall. It is now used by Shia Muslims for the purpose of Azadari.

It is believed that the construction of this grand building was started in 1785 when a devastating famine had hit Awadh, and the nawab’s objective was to provide employment for people in the region for almost a decade while the famine lasted.

It has large underground passages which have been blocked up.

A staircase from outside leads to a series of labyrinths known as Bhool-Bhulaiyan, which is a complicated entanglement of zig-zag passages. Visitors are advised to visit only with authorised guides.

Within the compound of the Imambara is the grand Asafi Mosque. Shahi Baoli is another attraction here.

This huge architectural and religious place is a must visit if you are in Lucknow. (Entry: Rs 50 (Incl : bara Imambara and Picture gallery) Guide Charges : 150 for family tour.

Shahjahan built Taj Mahal & then The Chief Minister Ms Mayavati built Ambedkar Memorial Parivartan Park

Ambedkar Memorial Park Lucknow

Drashya Sthal

This park of plants, tress with statues of icons of depressed society of India was built by Miss Mayawati the then Chief Minister of the State of UP, of which Lucknow is capital. Its construction and landscaping shows the royal taste of Miss Mayawati. It has a sprawling area on the banks of Gomti River.

Ambedkar Memorial Stupa

The Park and memorial is built across 107 acres in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The park is comprised of Ambedkar Stupa, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sangrahalay, Pratibimb Sthal and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Drashya Sthal.

The park was established in the memories of people who devoted their life for humanity, equality, social justice and reforming traditional barbaric culture such as Lord Buddha, Saint Kabir, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Chantrapati Shahu Maharaj, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Ghasidas, Narayana Guru, Rohidas, Birsa Munda and Kanshi Ram.

Dr Basahab Ambedkar's bronze Statue ( My Life's Struggle is my Message)

Red sandstone from Rajasthan was used for this megalithic construction. There are lush green gardens all around the memorial park which adds to the beauty of this monument.

The sprawling area is a wow. The statues and structures are magnificent. The greatness of a man who wrote the Indian constitution is well respected and portrayed.

Pratibimb Sthal

The whole park is a leisurely stroll. I was so taken by the place, with its arch of more than half a kilometre and long lines of 62 elephant statues and a marble colonnade that's reminiscent of ancient Rome.

Lord Buddha

The place is so impressive altogether that I later told family and friends, that a trip to Lucknow would be worth the time and money, to see just that one sight only. Must Visit....... (Ticket: Rs 20 only)

Seven Decades of Indian Constitution.

Today India celebrated 70th Republic Day.  In span of last seven decades after freedom the Constitution has played huge role in development of this country socially, economically and Politically.

According to Constitution; India is SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC country. But when instances of Mob lynching, child abuse and labour, communal and caste based riots I think the Constitution is used by some people with bad Intentions or in other words people are misusing their rights.

As a proud Indian I would like to mention few of our Fundamental Duties, which I think people should make remembered about.
1. To uphold and protect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
2. To promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities; to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of women.
3. To protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures.
4. To develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
Above four duties if equally performed by all citizens, will result in to greater and peaceful Nation in future.

Nowadays we are coming across worst level of Politics, to win the elections people are spending around 50 Cr to be an MP and so on. The elections are not won on the basis of Development rather they are won on the basis of communal polarisation. This has to be stopped somewhere.

Liberty and freedom is to be understood correctly, we should recall the words of Chairman of Drafting commit of Constitution. Dr Ambedkar said, Preamble of Constitution was, indeed, a way of life, which recognizes liberty, equality, and fraternity as the principles of life and which cannot be divorced from each other: Liberty cannot be divorced from equality; equality cannot be divorced from liberty. Nor can liberty and equality be divorced from fraternity. Without equality, liberty would produce the supremacy of the few over the many. Equality without liberty would kill individual initiative. Without fraternity, liberty and equality could not become a natural course of things.

At the end we should avoid discrimination among us in any form, may it be gender based, caste based, economically or socially. We all should come together to make this country much stronger from within so that no one can harm us externally.

Jai Bharat.

My Companions Birthday........

Overwhelmed with unique initiative of My Bike's dealer; Pepal Planet Yamaha. It was first time, I witnessed Bike's Birthday celebration, and that too by dealer after completing a year of purchase.

It’s not just a bike that’s a year old. It’s not “just a bike”, it’s a bike that brings people together, that helps people, that like its owner, has a sense of adventure, and loves the open road.

It has been a year of the most unexpected fun and smiles I’ve ever had from a bike and there is no reason why it should ever get dull. It’s a bike for life. It’s my bike.

Thanks to Yamaha.
Message to All Please wear Helmet for Your safety not for Police….
Not wearing a helmet can be a grave mistake.

When i met His Mother.

When i Met His Mother.......

Aged 96, This Lanky lady was on Bed rest due to her illness and age factor. She still moves around herself. The sweet melody ringing in her eyes and the Pride of her son can be well noticed in her shaky and confident voice. The Lifestyle was quite simple. My friend was insisting continuously for meeting her. It was not that easy to meet that Lady, as she was staying with her younger son and daughter in law. She was provided with protocol based kind of Police Security. We decided purchase one typical white coloured shawl, as we have seen her mostly wearing white coloured clothes. It sounds weird that we are going meet someone whom we don’t know, what we know is just Her Son; who is a big name in this country.

We have been welcomed and greeted by her Son and daughter in Law. They were extreme calm and gentle. We have received good hospitality.
After some snacks and talks, that family took us to her room.
She was lying on bed, her son helped her to sit. We greeted her with token of Love and asked for guidance and blessings.
She Said:
Do good, the good will come to you. Follow the way of truth and loyalty. She also said don’t forget the God. Believe in Super Power. At last she wished us grand success and prosperity in life.
